Every scripted action today was identifiable. Each, a request but also an order, from someone close to me yet very far away, to perform an action in this moment now that referenced a simpler moment long ago.



[LAUREN wakes up.]

[In honor of socks everywhere, LAUREN decides to wear rainbow colored toe socks today. Going to her closet she realizes she no longer knows where her rainbow colored toe socks have gone off to. She orders some more online and plans an homage to the inventor of toe socks for when they arrive.]

[LAUREN looks up the etymology of the word "euw".]

[Setting: 4th floor computer lab, 2pm. LAUREN teaches class.]

[LAUREN performs a dance titled "FIELD HOCKEY MEETS SNOWBOARDING"]

Lauren ponders her earliest attempts at trying to understand the universe

Lauren figures out why we have 30 days in a month

LAUREN: wonga, wonga, wonga

LAUREN: Throughout the day, Lauren instigates conversations with three different strangers.

LAUREN: Why do people say “thank you so much” for even the simplest things? How about “thanks” or “I appreciate that” or even the old school “much obliged”.

[Setting: grad studio, 5pm. LAUREN returns.]
